Who is Derya Matraş?

Derya Matraş serves as the Vice President at Meta, responsible for the United Kingdom, Northern Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions. In this role, she steers Meta’s business strategies in these areas, supporting the digital platform’s mission to build community and bring the world closer together. Matraş is responsible for managing the growth and operations in these regions effectively, playing a crucial role in entering new markets and establishing strategic partnerships.

Previously, as Vice President for the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey at Meta, Matraş managed the company’s operations and growth in these regions. She started her tenure at Meta as the Country Director for Turkey, where she developed strategies tailored to the local market dynamics, achieving significant successes.

Matraş began her professional career in the media and consulting sectors, serving as Vice President of the Retail, Entertainment, Education Group at Doğan Media Group, and as a Board Member at D&R and Doğan Egmont Publishing. During her years at McKinsey & Company as an Associate Partner, she developed strategies for the telecommunications, media, consumer, and public sectors.

A graduate of Columbia University Business School with an MBA in Marketing, Matraş also holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering from Boğaziçi University.

With extensive experience in international marketing and business development, Derya Matraş is a member of the advisory board of the Istanbul Global e-Export Summit. Serving on the summit’s advisory board, Matraş contributes significantly to shaping the strategic direction of the event with her deep knowledge in digital transformation, international marketing, and e-commerce strategies.
